Game Conduct & Officials
Authority: Only the Team Manager may question an umpire's decision.
Behavior: Arguing, foul language, or disruptive behavior by coaches, players, or spectators results in immediate ejection from the game and facility. The Tournament Director reserves the right to remove any party. Police will be called. The head coach will also be ejected.
Official Game (Suspension): A game is official if: three (3) complete innings are played; two-and-a-half (2.5) innings played with the home team leading; or the game reaches the 45-minute mark.
Game Format & Time Limits
Home Team: Determined by coin toss (pool play) or higher seed choice (bracket/final).
Lineups: Must be submitted to the opposing team and the announcer prior to game start.
Time Limits: All games (excluding Championship/Consolation) have an 85-minute limit. No new inning begins after 85 minutes; current inning is completed.
Tiebreakers: Pool play games may end in a tie. Bracket games must have a winner — International Tiebreaker starts in the 7th inning or once time expires.
Championship/Consolation: Full 6-inning games.
Mercy Rule: 12 runs after 3 innings · 10 runs after 4 innings · 8 runs after 5+ innings.
Inning Limit: No limit on runs per inning.
Eligibility & Rosters
Age: Must be 10U eligible per USA Softball criteria.
Rosters: Must include player birthdates and be submitted to ACFurySoftball@gmail.com before the tournament.
Guest Players: Permitted if age-eligible.
Jerseys: Every player must have a unique number on the back.
Equipment & Pitching Rules
Standards: Equipment must meet certification requirements of sanctioned bodies. Umpire has final decision.
Pitching Changes: Mid-inning changes limited to 7 warm-up pitches. Once the catcher is ready, only 3 warm-up pitches are allowed.
General Rules: Stealing home is permitted; Fake-Bunt-Swing is legal; play is dead if the pitcher has possession of the ball inside the 8-foot circle.
Batting & Baserunning
Lineup: Minimum of 9 players required; teams may bat the entire roster.
Short-Handed Rule: Dropping below the starting number results in a recorded out in the missing spot.
Substitutions: Any player may be re-entered once (must stay in the original batting position).
Courtesy Runner (CR): One CR per inning for the pitcher, catcher, or injured player. Must be an eligible sub who has not entered the game or the last recorded out.
Logistics, Tiebreakers, & Refunds
Reporting: Schedule/bracket updates via SE Tourney App. Report scores to 412-585-6606 or the group chat. Be ready 15 minutes before scheduled time.
Bracket Tiebreakers: 1. Overall Record · 2. Head-to-Head · 3. Run Differential · 4. Runs Scored · 5. Coin Flip.
Weather Refunds: 0 games played — $400 · 1 game — $300 · 2 games — $200 · 3+ games — $0.
Final Rulings: If changes to the bracket are needed based on incomplete games or other circumstances, the Tournament Director and management team make all final decisions regarding rosters, game times, and field locations.
The Tournament Director (Wes) owns all weather decisions and communication.
Delays and cancellations will be announced via group text and updated in the SE Tourney App.
When in doubt, check the app first before heading to the complex.
